Still Moving Forward

A quiet update on what’s next. While waiting on the next release, I’ve been working on new stories, shaping The Hollow Glass: A Lantern Keeper’s Tale, and building something closer to home. Progress doesn’t always look loud, but it’s still moving forward.

Still Moving Forward

I’ve found myself in a quieter stretch of the process lately. I’m currently waiting on two copyrights to come back before I can move forward with my next release. It’s not the most visible part of the work, but it matters. It’s part of building something that lasts, so I’m letting it take the time it needs.

Even in the waiting, the work hasn’t stopped.

The next book in line is The Hollow Glass: A Lantern Keeper’s Tale, a gothic maritime story with a supernatural edge. It moves differently than what I’ve released so far. More atmospheric and more patient, the kind of story that settles in and reveals itself a little at a time. It’s in final editing now, and I’m looking forward to sharing more when the time is right.

Alongside that, I’m working on book two of the Phineasverse series and book two of Echoes Of The Emerald Vale series. Both are taking shape in their own way, and I’m giving them the space to become what they need to be. I’ve also been spending time on a couple of smaller projects, just ideas that are fun to explore without pressure. That has been a good reminder of why I started writing in the first place.

There is another reason I write, beyond the joy of building worlds and telling stories. At some point, I realized how quickly time moves and how easy it is to leave things unfinished. That realization changed how I approach both life and writing. I stopped waiting for the perfect moment and started building with what I had in front of me.

I know some of you are waiting for what comes next, and I appreciate that more than I can really put into words. I tend to have a lot of things in motion at once. That’s just how I’m wired. A little scattered at times, always building something, always chasing the next idea. But that same chaos is where a lot of my creativity comes from.

Lately, a lot of that energy has gone into building something closer to home. We’ve been working on a family garden, and aside from getting the soil in and planting, it’s just about ready. It’s taken a few long weekends, but it’s the kind of work that clears your head and reminds you why you build things in the first place.

This is what I’ve been building lately. It’s not finished yet, but that’s kind of the point. Some things take time to come together the right way. That same mindset carries into the writing and building stories isn’t all that different.

So even if things seem quiet on the surface, there is still a lot moving underneath. I’m still writing. Still building. Still moving forward.

I write for the story, and for what it might leave behind.
